Not all roles are created equally.
Within the new restricted sequence Welcome to Chippendales, premiering Nov. 22 on Hulu, Kumail Nanjiani performs Somen ‘”Steve”‘ Banerjee, the real-life founding father of the enduring male dance revue.
It is a story that is as stunning as it’s compelling—and it is one which Kumail could not imagine was really true.
“One of many first conversations I had with Robert Siegel, our creator, he informed me he had the eight episode breakdown,” Kumail defined solely to E! Information. “He was like, ‘And in episode 4, this occurs. In episode 5, this occurs.’ I saved stopping him to be like, ‘Did that basically occur?’ He was like, ‘Yeah, that is all actual.'”
So, Kumail knew what needed to be carried out.
“My response was, ‘I’ve to do that. I’ve to play this character who does all these wild issues as a result of I wish to determine play him in a method that is smart,”’ he mentioned. “I used to be simply actually excited. On the finish when he was carried out speaking, I used to be like, ‘Properly. I’ve no alternative. I’ve to do that.'”
