Claudia Snyman is a language researcher in South Africa and her grandmother, Katrina Esau, is the final remaining fluent speaker of N|uu, the traditional language of the San, or Bushman, folks.

Collectively they work painstakingly on a dictionary of the click-based phrases of this disappearing language, believed to be 25,000 years outdated. As soon as oppressed and derided in colonial instances, they’re decided that it’ll come again from the brink of extinction and into modern-day use.
