Man bit by alligator after listening to a bump at his door | NEWSRUX

A Florida man answered a knock at his dwelling’s entrance door solely to be bitten on the leg by a 9ft alligator ready for him on the opposite aspect.

Scot Hollingsworth, 56, was watching TV when he heard a bump on the door on the dwelling in Daytona Seaside, reported advised WKMG.

“I jumped up and headed over and opened the door, stepped out whereas attempting to achieve the lights and barely acquired out the door and acquired my leg clamped on and (it) began shaking actually violently,” he advised the station.


And he added: “I believe I stunned the alligator as a lot as he stunned me.”

Mr Hollingsworth was taken to hospital and handled for non-life threatening accidents.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fee confirmed the 4 March incident and mentioned they despatched a trapper to catch and euthanise the reptile, the station mentioned.

The fee says the state is dwelling to round 1.3 million alligators, that are present in all 67 of the state’s counties.

The company says it routinely euthanizes “nuisance” alligators, that are 4 ft lengthy or bigger and pose a risk to individuals or wildlife.

“Relocated alligators usually attempt to return to their seize website. They will create issues for individuals or different alligators alongside the best way. If an alligator efficiently returns, capturing it once more could be obligatory and sure harder the second time,” the company says on its web site.
